Inspiring

Teaching

Inspiring Teaching is a free web resource for middle school educators who see the value of the arts in developing creative problem-solvers and empowering learning across all subjects.

Our video modules document the work of a middle school teaching artist Betsy Wolfston and her sixth grade students as they participate in a new integrative arts program called ArtCore, developed by Lane Arts Council and the Education Policy Improvement Center.

Watch as Wolfston's students practice the eight Harvard-developed “Studio Habits of Mind” designed to endow students with the confidence and critical thinking skills to succeed across academic fields.

Then download our PDF curriculum for lesson plans and takeaways tailored for middle school teachers interested in trying the program or modifying it for their classroom needs.
